Bill
is a founding member of Farm
Folk City Folk Society
(and past chairman of the board), Cuisine
Canada, Slow
Food Vancouver Island and has volunteered for countless
events that benefit the local and regional community. This includes
editing the Pot on The Stove Cookbook
for the Vancouver Firefighters, raising money for the Cowichan
Hospice Society, cooking food for the MS
Bike Tour and taking part in the Cowichan Chef's Table
events to raise money for local projects like the Providence
Farm programs.
Magnetic North Cuisine is currently
involved in broad based initiatives to market agricultural and
culinary tourism in the Vancouver Island and Gulf Island regions.
Bill is currently working on a Guide to
Local Food and Drink with Gary Hynes of
Eat Magazine.
